If you have been following my blog, you know that my plan for yesterday was to take on the big Swimmingpool. Without my float this time. With just two days of Training left to go it was about time I took the plunge. It was scary, I can tell you that much. I was sitting next to the pool on the ladder for about 20 minutes feeling very small next to the deep waters.
Then I remembered the advice my mate Biggie from the Gander Gang had given me days ago: "Make a bomb!" What had terrified me back then suddenly seemed to make sense. The quicker I was in the water, the less time I had to get scared.
So... I jumped in.
And there I was: Swimming! And it was easy. It was just as my friend @YourStylist on Twitter had said: "The instinct kicks in." That's what it was like. I was swimming and it was fun!
Today, I'll try on my racing outfit that the Tangerine's made for me and tomorrow I'm off to the Race!
It's not too late, you can still sponsor me if you like: http://www.justgiving.com/Dunkan-Duck
About Me
- Dunkan Duck
- I’m Dunkan. I’m a duck. I don’t quack but I do blog and tweet. Sadly, neither do I swim but I’m getting there. Here’s my motto: "A duck can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done." I WILL learn to swim. I MUST!
